It has to be said that I love the Internet.
I have no idea how we functioned without it because it’s like GPS. With my diabolical sense of direction, I have no idea how I got anywhere before GPS but it seems I did because the facts speak for themselves, and it’s all there in the written record along with a few rare photographs.
GPS, the internet, Google, and don’t get me started on my iPhone.
I’m not necessarily very good at it, but even I can see its massive potential and I am committed to using it as much as I can to support what I do and the people I do it with, and for.
I administer and moderate a good number of groups that I’m very proud of, the two most important being ‘NZ Transgender News Share’ where I pull together news of interest to transgender people in Aotearoa from sources all around the world. I’m strict about behaviour, don’t editorialise, and enjoy the new friendships that arise when like-minded people come together.
I established ‘NZ Transgender News Share’ over a decade ago and update it a number of times each day.
This group currently has 1,900 members.
I am equally proud to be the co-creator of a sports group called ‘Archery in Aotearoa’ which has been in existence now for just two years. It’s a means whereby archery clubs and shooters from Aotearoa New Zealand can connect with what’s happening in the archery world in Aotearoa New Zealand across the many different forms and bow types the exist in the sport. I set it up with the goal of ensuring communication is always positive and friendly and we have relentlessly served the sport nationally in a social media space where nothing much else seems to happen.
It is intentionally not aligned to any one organisation, anyone can post, and many people do. It’s not a site for commercial activities or buying and selling equipment but is exclusively for sharing enjoyable updates about club activities supported by fabulous images of the sport.
I update the site multiple times a day,
Feedback, when it comes, has been uniformly positive which is affirming.
