Rāhui Day 25 (27): It probably seems weird but I prefer even numbers to odd numbers.
This morning I participated in an online meeting as a mute observer. Mute is not my default position. Behaved quite well, I thought, and it was fun. No, I did not remain mute throughout.
The rest of the day was spent on work work. Moderation and stuff like that. Getting ready to joust in the online lists of learning. Looking forward to it really. Just have to evade the lance of the Black Knight of Pedantry and the spells of the Necromancer of Prescription. Then it’ll be OK.
Watched the news. No-one died, but the Deputy Prime Misery has joined the shout out for letting the vulnerable pass for the sake of the economy. Doesn’t he remember his voter base are all over 70 – and so’s he.
Plenty have died though – over 750,000 infected in the US alone and 40,000 deaths but it’s all China’s fault, of course. Twice as many dead as Italy and Spain and it’s only 6 days since theirs were the horror stories. This is the gift that just keeps on giving.
A good episode from series 5 of ‘Inspector George Gently’ from 2011 and a repeat of my favourite ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ featuring a wonderfully urbane Charles Dance. Hard to reconcile the affable Dance of this episode with the ruthless Tywin Lannister shot in the heart with a bolt from a crossbow fired by his dwarf son Tyrion while he was minding his business sitting on his long-drop loo. I really, really, really must try to get out more.
So, a nice day with some good works perhaps more suitable for someone else’s Sunday.
